The GE Simon comes with a lot of goodies compared to other security systems but has lots to be desired.

1) Control panel doesn't come with a "back light" to help you see what you're doing if it's dark inside. *this makes it more difficult to deactivate at night unless you have other lights on.

2) Programing is frustrating and clunky. After it's fully set up it's pretty much self-sufficient though.

3) "Mr" Simon talks to you in a very most annoying manor/voice. They should've used a woman's voice ;-0

Word to the wise -- if you have or can use ADT, then I'd recommend getting them to install the concord system. It doesn't have any flashy things, but is the most practical.

Hi,
This is an excellent alarm system. My wife and I hooked our GE Simon up in about 2 hours. It would've been less time but we ordered a few extra window and door sensors for our downstairs, plus another sensor for my shed out back.

I would recommend this alarm system to anyone wanting something affordable and an alarm that you can monitor online yourself. You can also have it call your work or cell phone if preferred.

Thanks!
